Justin Bieber is a pop-star who was discovered in 2008, when Scooter Braun (now Bieber’s manager), came across the youth’s videos on YouTube. After noticing Bieber’s potential, Braun arranged a meeting between Bieber and Usher—a renowned R&B and pop star. When the two met, Bieber was signed to Raymond Braun Media Group—a joint venture between Scooter Braun and Usher. Bieber’s debut single “One Time”, which was released in 2009, peaked in the top 10 in several international markets. His debut album, My World, which was released on November 17, 2009 reached platinum status in the United States. His second studio release, My World 2.0, which was released in March of 2009, received similar success—the album debuted at number one and reached platinum status in the United States. As a result of his global fame and ridiculous success, Justin Bieber’s career has created a cult-like following. When individuals reach this pantheon of success, their shows or appearances are often met with wild throngs of supporters.
Justin Bieber Arrest Scare:
Justin Bieber was threatened by police in Britain due to fears that his appearance would precipitate a “public riot” among his devout fans. According to various news outlets, Bieber—the 17 year old Canadian pop star—was warned of arrest by the local law enforcement agents of Liverpool, that if he stepped anywhere near the balcony of his hotel room, he would be arrested on site. This threat, which may seem outlandish, was warranted; Justin Bieber, through his meteoric rise in the music world, has elicited a frenzied following, who would do nearly anything to get a glimpse of the star.
Bieber was never arrested, for he obeyed the police’s orders and refrained from provoking the crowd in anyway. He was shocked at the threat of an arrest; however, as Bieber tweeted and told reporters that the crowds forming outside his Liverpool hotel were among the biggest and most wild he’s ever seen.
