John Travolta, born on February 18, 1954, is an American actor who began his illustrious career during the 1970s. Travolta’s first role in the hit television series Welcome Back, Kotter, ultimately paved the way for future success in Hollywood.
Although Travolta’s first few movies, such as Grease and Saturday Night Fever were instant hits, his acting career declined in the early 1980s and continued to dissipate throughout the remainder of the decade. Travolta; however, resurfaced in the early 90’s with his role in Pulp Fiction. Since playing a central role in this classic, Travolta has been nominated for numerous awards and has made millions for his featured roles throughout the 90s and 00s.
John Travolta’s Personal Life:
Travolta married actress Kelly Preston in 1991. The couple had three children together, Jett Born in 1992, Ella, their only daughter born in 2000 and Benjamin, who was born in November of 2010. Tragically, their son Jett passed away in 2009, while the family was on holiday vacation in Hawaii. Jett, who had a history of illness and suffered from Kawasaki disease as an infant, fell victim to a tragic seizure.
Travolta and Preston had long had marital problems; Travolta was habitually accused of cheating while on the road producing and making movies. To quell their marital problems, Travolta admitted that he and Preston regularly attend marriage counseling courses; Travolta has stated that therapy has helped the marriage and the couple realizes their personal shortcomings.
