On August 8, 1969 Sharon Tate was just two weeks from giving birth to her and Roman’s first child. That afternoon, Tate entertained two friends—actresses Barbara Lewis and Joanna Pettet–for lunch at her home. During the lunch, Tate confided in her friends over her disappointment at Polenski’s delay in returning from London, where he was filming a movie.

On the evening of August 8, 1969 Tate, along with three friends (including the heir to the Folger fortune) went for dinner and returned to Tate’s home at roughly 10:30 p.m. During the night, they were brutally murdered by members of Charles Manson’s clan, “The Family”. The next day, Tate’s body—along her friends—was discovered by Tate’s housekeeper. When police arrived on scene, they immediately discovered the body of a young man, identified as Steven Parent, shot to death in his car, which was in Tate’s driveway. In 1993, Coleman in a television interview admitted that he had attempted to kill himself on multiple occasions by overdosing on pills. While struggling with finances and his inability to lock-down an acting position, Coleman moved from Los Angeles to a small town in Utah in 2005. Coleman remained in Utah until his tragic passing. The latter stages of Coleman’s life were marred in depression and appearances low-budget films or television shows. How Did Marilyn Monroe Die?

On August 5, 1962, Dr. Ralph Greenson, Monroe’s primary psychiatrist, phoned LAPD police sergeant, Jack Clemmons at 4:25 AM, to inform the officer that Monroe was found dead at her home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. Monroe was just 36 years old at the time of her death.

On August 8, 1962 Marilyn Monre was interred in a crypt at the Corridor of Memories at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Commentary in Westwood, Los Angeles. Joe DiMaggio, baseball star and Monroe’s former husband, took control of the funeral arrangements which consisted of roughly 30 close friends and family members.

Following Monroe’s death, the star actresses’ will left her close friend and agent, Lee Strasberg, her personal effects, which amounted to roughly half of her residuary estate. In turn, Strasberg stored Monroe’s personal belongings in a warehouse and will them to his widow, Anna Strasberg. This matter eventually drew great legal conflict, as various parties sued to obtain portions of Monroe’s estate and great assets.
