Although there was no evidence that linked the former congressmen to the death of the young employee, the Scarborough scandal picked up intensity, when in 2003, Scarborough made some ill-advised jokes and comments about the incident with Don Imus. When the two met, they recruited other members to eventually form one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed musical groups in history.

John Lennon’s Death:

At roughly 10:50 PM on December 8, 1980, as John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, who were returning to their New York City apartment in The Dakota, mark David Chapman shot and killed Lennon. Chapman fired four bullets, each hitting Lennon’s back, at the entrance to the star’s apartment. Following the shooting, Lennon was rushed to the emergency room at nearby Roosevelt Hospital—the legend was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:07 P.M.

Before Chapman had savagely gunned down John Lennon, the Beatle’s star had autographed Chapman’s copy of one of the Beatle’s albums—Double Fantasy. John Lennon’s Killer: Mark David Chapman:

Mark David Chapman, born May 10, 1955, is currently in prison for murdering former Beatles member John Lennon. After firing five shots at the beloved musician, four of which struck Lennon, Chapman remained at the crime scene until he was arrested by police—Chapman plead guilty to the crime. For the murder, Chapman was sentenced to a prison term of twenty years to life—Chapman is currently imprisoned at the Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, New York. Chapman, who has been denied parole six times, was motivated to carry-out the horrendous act after seeing the film Ordinary People. Knowing of his perversions, Chapman made appointments with clinical psychologists, in hopes of refraining from the murder. Instead of engaging in help, Chapman flew to New York where is maniacal streak invariably had taken over.

Mark David Chapman was charged with second degree murder for killing John Lennon. Following his arrest, Chapman was taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric examination. Lauer became the co-host of The Today Show when he replaced Bryan Gumbel in 1997—shortly after the passing away of his father. The series, led by Lauer and cohost Katie Couric, turned out to be a hit and Lauer quickly was propelled into the upper crust of television personalities. Lauer, during his time as a local television host, was married from 1982 until 1989 to, Nancy Alspaugh, a television producer. The marriage ultimately ended in divorce and from 1989 to 1996 Matt Lauer dated Kristen Gesswein—an attract television news anchor. The two were briefly engaged, but the relationship ultimately dissolved. Plaxico Burress’ Legal Troubles:

Plaxico Burress first faced legal troubles in September of 2008, when Totowa (New Jersey) police responded to two domestic disturbance calls at the receiver’s household. Both notifications resulted in the issuance of temporary restraining orders—these orders were later dismissed by state court.

The crushing blow to Burress stemmed from an incident that took place on Friday, November 28 of 2008. On this date, Burress suffered an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right thigh when a pistol he was carrying went-off in LQ—a popular New York City nightclub. Burress’ Glock pistol, which was tucked in the waistband of his sweatpants, began to slide down his leg; when Burress reached for the weapon he inadvertently depressed the trigger, causing the gun to fire into his thigh. The injury was not life-threatening; however, the following Monday, Burress was forced to turn himself into the authorities to face criminal charges for possession of a handgun. Mayor Michael Bloomberg urged the court system to prosecute Burress to the fullest extent of the law, claiming that any punishment short of 3 and a half years for the unlawful carrying of a handgun in New York City would be a “mockery of the law”. The weapon was viewed as illegal because Burress’ concealed carry license, which was issued in Florida, was not only expired, but deemed illegal in New York City.

On December 2, 2008 Burress posted a bail of $100,000; later in the same day he was told by his team, the New York Giants, that he was to be suspended, without pay, for the remainder of the 2008 season.

On December 23, 2008, a search of the wide receiver’s home, initiated by the Totowa Police Department revealed a 9 mm handgun, a rifle, ammunition and clothing worn by Burress on the night of the accidental shooting. On July 29, 2009 the receiver was officially tried and asked the Manhattan grand jury for sympathy during the two hour testimony. On Monday, August 3, 2009, prosecutors announced the official indictment of the star wide receiver. He received two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and a single count of reckless endangerment—both charges are classified as felonies in New York City. On August 20 of the same year, Plaxico Burress accepted a plea deal that would put the receiver in prison for two years with an additional two years of supervised release. Burress was sentenced on September 22, 2009 and Plaxico Burress is scheduled to be released from prison on on June 6 of 2011.

Who is Erin Andrews?

Born May 4, 1978 Erin Andrews is a popular American sportscaster who has parlayed her successful career at ESPN into numerous side projects, including a sting on “Dancing with the Stars” and various endorsement deals. Andrews is particularly popular among male sports fans for her beauty—Andrews was voted “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” by numerous publications, including Playboy magazine.

Andrew’s career began at FSN Florida, where the future broadcaster worked as a freelance reporter. In 2001, Andrews moved to the Sunshine Network where she served as a reporter for the NHL franchise, the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 2002, Andrews moved to a studio host role and part-time reporter for Tuner Sports, a position that enabled her to cover the majority of professional sport franchises in Atlanta, Georgia. In May of 2004, Andrews was hired by ESPN, where she became a reporter for ESPN’s National Hockey League coverage. Since this stint, she has served as the channel’s premiere sideline reporter for college football and college basketball. Her job has also expanded to Major League Baseball.

Erin Andrews Peephole Scandal:

On July 16, 2009, a video posted online that hinted that the naked blind woman featured in the short clip was Erin Andrews. The video was shot through a peephole in Andrew’s hotel room; the video showed Andrew’s changing and curling hair while unclothed in front of a mirror. After the video was posted online, Andrews authorized that her attorney issue a statement verifying that she was the woman in the peephole video and that the video was made without her knowledge nor consent. The video was instantly removed from all websites that had posted it and a subsequent investigation was launched.

Andrews described the situation as “a living nightmare” and was reticent to discuss the legal guidelines which enshrouded the situation. On October 2 of 2009 the FBI arrested David Barrett, a 47 year old divorced father from Chicago. Barret was charged with interstate stalking for filming Andres changing and subsequently posting them online; Barrett was also charged because he tried to sell them to various websites and media outlets. FBI agents ultimately matched information in emails written by Barrett. On December 15 of 2009, Barrett pleaded guilty for his role in the incident and to the interstate stalking charges. For this felony he was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Who was Gary Coleman?

Born February 8, 1968 Gary Coleman was an American actor, who was best known for his childhood role as Arnold Jackson in the hit sitcom Different Strokes (aired from 1978-1986). Coleman, who was recognized for his small stature as an adult, was described as one of the 80’s most promising stars. Coleman earned praise and admiration from critics and the general public alike for his quick-witted humor and various catchphrases. Following a successfully childhood acting career; however, Coleman struggled financially and emotionally later in life.

Gary Coleman’s Financial and Legal Troubles:

In 1993, Coleman in a television interview admitted that he had attempted to kill himself on multiple occasions by overdosing on pills. While struggling with finances and his inability to lock-down an acting position, Coleman moved from Los Angeles to a small town in Utah in 2005. Coleman remained in Utah until his tragic passing. The latter stages of Coleman’s life were marred in depression and appearances low-budget films or television shows. In the early part of 2007, Coleman married a struggling actress; on May 1 of 2008, the two made a well-publicized appearance on the reality television show Divorce Court to air-out their differences in a media attempt to save their marriage. This plan ultimately backfired as the couple divorced later that year and Coleman was never offered any sort of sustainable job following the appearance. The couple, who cited irreconcilable differences as the means to divorce, remained living together until the Gary Coleman death.

Gary Coleman Death:

Very few details of Coleman’s medical history and conditions have been made public. The actor’s short stature (Coleman was only 4 feet, 8 inches tall) stemmed from congenital autoimmune kidney disease and the treatment needed to curtail the condition. As a result of this disease, Coleman underwent multiple kidney transplants early in his life. In 2009, Coleman underwent heart surgery (details of the operation were never made public) and developed pneumonia postoperatively. Following the surgery, Coleman was hospitalized in January of 2010 after the former child star had developed a seizure. The following month Coleman, whose health was deteriorating, suffered another seizure while on the set of The Insider television program.

On May 26, 2010 Coleman was admitted to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah after the comic star had fallen down a flight of stairs in his home. The fall, which was possibly caused by another seizure, resulted in a serious head injury. By mid-afternoon on the following day, Gary Coleman was on life support; the actor died at 12:05 on May 28.
