On January 23, 2008 Lil Wayne was arrested when his tour bus was stopped by Border Patrol in Yuma, Arizona.

A K-9 Unit discovered 105 grams of marijuana, roughly 20 grams of cocaine, $22,000 in cash and 41 grams of MDMA. Lil Wayne, for this possession, was charged with four separate felonies: possession of narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of dangerous drugs. On October 22, 2009 Wayne plead guilty to criminal possession of a weapon—On March 8, 2010 Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison. Wayne was released from prison on November 4 of the same year.
